Planned Preventative Maintenance for Metal Detectors

It is always better to prevent than to correct, therefore investing in a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system for your metal detector(s) should be considered together with in-depth Performance Validation which should be carried out regularly too, see below for more information…

  • A good PPM system should aim to limit wear and tear on equipment which might otherwise result in metal contamination.
  • It is mandatory to keep documented records of PPM activity, together with records of any necessary corrective actions that took place.
  • Equipment MUST be maintained in line with the original manufacturer’s recommendations.
